Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! A Chocolate Affair!

Welcome to August and the new Stamp of the Month, "A Chocolate Affair", from Close To My Heart! You are on the blog hop! You can hop from blog to blog to see what Consultants have created with the same stamp set.

If you arrived here from Terry's blog then you are on the right track! You can view my project, leave a comment, and then HOP over to the next blog which will be listed in a link at the end of this post. Hope you like my creation!

I created a card that will look like a box of chocolates! I made the sentiment into the tag for the box lid.

I used a cupcake wrapper and glued it around the trimmed and 3D taped chocolates in the box. Each chocolate was made to look different, just like in a chocolate variety box. One is stamped in chocolate ink on white so that the white swirl looks like frosting, another is stamped on pink pattern paper (from Lucy) to looks like pink sparkles on top, the third was stamped with red pigment ink onto chocolate card stock.

Now HOP on over to Karen's blog to see what beautiful project she has created!

Thank you for hopping!

Surf's Up! Layout #4! Waterplay!

Surf's Up! Layout #4! The layout is my take on the sketch from "Let's Scrap". I love checking in on this blog to see the weekly sketch challenge! Below is the sketch I worked with.

I added a couple extra photos in place of some of the suggested embellishments. (I just can't edit myself to only 3 photos just yet!) I also moved my journaling from the top right corner to the base of the wave shapes I made instead. What do you think on my interpretation? If this looks like fun to you be sure to check in each week and play along!

I used my brand NEW "Artbooking Cricut Cartridge" on this layout. It is available for purchase starting August 1st. I could not resist using the wave shape on this layout! It was a great way to show waterplay! I am going to enter this layout in the "water, water, everywhere" challenge on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog!

Also on the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge was this cute title! "Fun and Sun" sums it up pretty well!

For the vertical element of the sketch I stamped a swirl flourish and repeated it so it looked as if it were one continuous shape.

Supplies:
  • Surf's Up! Workshop On The Go Kit
  • CTMH Love Life stamp set
  • CTMH Artbooking Cricut Cartridge Bundle
  • CTMH Creme Brulee Ink Pad
  • CTMH Bitty Sparkles
  • SUP Marker in "Not Quite Navy"
  • CTMH Retired Mayberry Paper
Thank you for checking in!

Surf's Up! Layout #3!

Surf's Up! Layout #3! Summer time is a fun theme to work with! Especially when it gives you a good excuse to tear some paper.

Torn paper is one of my favorite ways to show sand and beach landscapes! With Close To MY Heart the cardstocks have a white core. When you tear with it you can make the white core show and add depth to your layering.

The stamp set that comes with the kit was perfect for placing some footprints in the sand, as well a creating a beachy type sign. To create the sign I used chocolate ink and stamped the full stamp on chocolate card stock and again onto the crosshatch patterned paper. Then simply trim the sign itself and layer it onto the trimmed chocolate base.

Supplies:
  • Surf's Up! Workshop On The Go Kit
  • Chocolate Ink
  • Lagoon Base
  • The bravery it takes to tear your cardstock!

Hope you like it!

Surf's Up! Layout #2!

Surf's Up! Layout #2! This layout is based on a pattern/sketch from the "Cherish" How-To scrapbook layout book. I used the pattern called "Creative Rhythm". (A sneak peek fact- This book has been brought back as a spiral bound in the NEW Idea Book that will be released August 1st!)

I love this zip strip! I call it "Summer Defined". I don't know about you, but all definition type accents seem appealing to me! On this layout it makes a great transition from pattern to solid.

An added detail on this layout is a bit of beachy type hemp. One is tied around the large photo mat and this bow here. I unraveled the ends to make it appear "weathered".

Supplies:
  • Surf's Up! Paper Pack or Kit
  • Hemp
  • "Cherish" How-To Book
Hope you like this layout!

Surf's Up! Layout #1

"Surf's Up!" is my featured Workshop On The Go Kit for my July Scrapbooking Class! This kit from Close To My Heart is perfect for this time of year- Summer! Time to catch some waves and spend some time enjoying Mother Nature's warmth!

Imitation is the best form of flattery! Well, the layout I created is my take on a layout I saw and fell in love with when scanning Pinterest for ideas with this paper pack! The gal whom created the layout I spotted is Michelle Snyder, a fellow Close To My Heart Consultant. Check out her work at www.somethingaboutsharing.com.

What I loved about Michelle's layout was the idea to use the motif of the paper as a large anchoring border! It took a bit of patience with my scissors, but looks so great when its cut out! It really pops against the lagoon base.

When we add our photo mats we can tuck them in behind the beach scene of the boarder we cut out. When I attached my border I only ticky taped the sides and bottom and left the middle of it un-tacked so that it would be easy to tuck photos behind it.

For stamping on this layout I used the splash drop and stamped it in Lagoon Ink onto Lagoon card stock. Then I got out my new stack of pigment inks and used "Honey" Yellow for the Fun Shine stamp. I placed it on my layout on 3D Foam tape to let it appear to be the "Sun" in my beach scene.

Supplies used on this layout:
  • Surf's Up Workshop On The Go Kit (Paper Pack and Stamp Set)
  • Lagoon Card Stock Base
  • White Scrap to stamp on
  • Ink: Honey Yellow Pigment Ink, Lagoon Ink
  • 3D Foam Tape
  • Paper Scissors
Hope you like it! I can't wait to get my photos back from the printer and place them!
